Applications are being accepted from qualified Engineers-In-Training and entry-level Registered Professional Engineers seeking career advancement in the field of water resources. The desired candidates will have a BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Hydrologic Sciences, or similar field with emphasis on hydrology and hydraulics, and have both the desire and motivation to become recognized experts in the field of water resources. Applicants must have at least 2 years of related water resources experience and a demonstrated knowledge and education in basic hydrologic and hydraulic fundamentals. Initial responsibilities will include providing technical assistance under the direct supervision and training of senior registered professional water resource engineers on a diverse array of projects requiring hydrologic and hydraulic expertise. Typical projects may include, but are not limited to, floodplain reclamation; watershed hydrology; floodplain management; erosion, sedimentation, and scour analyses; channelization and hydraulic structure designs; design and inspection of dams; application of computer modeling techniques in determining hydrologic and hydraulic processes; flood control design; water rights; watershed and reservoir yield studies; long-range water supply studies; flood forecasting; flood inundation mapping; watershed monitoring systems; determination of hydrologic environmental consequences; and regulatory support, including preparation of reports, graphics, and other supporting technical documentation to be included in permit applications and approval processes with Federal, State, and local authorities. Experience and familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic model software generally recognized in the engineering field (such as HEC models, NRCS models, NWS models), as well as AutoCAD and/or Microstation, are a plus. Salary is negotiable and will be commensurate with educational training, demonstrated knowledge, and expertise in the field of water resources.
