The Accounting Analyst performs routine accounting tasks in support of one or more specialized areas, projects, contracts, or divisions. Prepares, examines, and analyzes a variety of reconciliations and reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares journal entries; maintains and reconciles ledger accounts.
Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
Maintains appropriate records for area(s) of responsibility.
Perform month-end closing activities, including appropriate and timely support for client corporate and business unit closing schedules.
Performs a wide variety of month-end inter-company accruals.
Supports inter-company and/or divisional accounts payable invoicing process.
Prepares and analyzes monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
Identify account reconciliation items in assigned accounts and work with internal and external teams to bring them to final resolution.
Support business unit account inquiry and reporting requirements.
Support both Internal and External Audit requirements.
Initiate and support continuous improvement.
Interacts with staff and customers to research and resolve problems.
Assists with drafting internal procedures.
Conducts studies and develops solutions for improving accounting processes.
